Using Waitlist

By creating an account or using Waitlist, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. You need to be at least 13 years old. Keep your password private — you're responsible for what happens on your account.

Joining a line

• When you join, you get a place in that restaurant's line and an estimated wait. Estimates come from the restaurant's current tables and history, and real waits can be shorter or longer.
• When you're close to the front you'll be told to head over, and you'll have a set time to arrive. When your table is ready you'll have a few minutes to check in with the host. If a timer runs out, your spot may be given to the next party.
• The restaurant runs its own floor. It can seat parties out of order (for example, to match a party to a table that fits), pause app joins, close its line, or remove a party.
• You can be in one line at a time. Please leave the line if your plans change, so the next party moves up.
• Reservations are made directly with the restaurant, which may enter them into Waitlist.

Texts and notifications

If you give a host your mobile number and agree to texts, we'll text you about that visit (you're on the list, almost up, table ready). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts. App notifications can be turned off in your phone's settings.

Please don't

• Join lines you don't intend to show up for, or hold spots for other people who aren't coming.
• Use a name that impersonates someone or is offensive — it's shown on the public line.
• Try to break, overload, scrape, or get around the security of Waitlist.

We may suspend accounts that do these things.

For restaurants

Restaurants on Waitlist are responsible for the information on their page (hours, menu, prices, photos), for how they run their line, and for the staff accounts they add. Owners must protect their account with an authenticator app and remove staff who no longer work there.

The beta

Waitlist is being tested with a small number of restaurants. Features may change or be removed, and there may be interruptions. We provide the service "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on our responsibility

We're not responsible for a restaurant's food, service, seating decisions, or wait times, or for losses caused by the service being unavailable, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.

Ending your account

You can delete your account any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. We may close accounts that break these terms.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do; if a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
